GAP phase II was held from 11am till 6pm at La Salle College on 19th December 2009. The day was replete with wonders and joy.
The event started with several mass games, which gave emphasis to teamwork and bond building, not only among members of the same group but also between campers of different groups.
In order raise campers’ awareness towards global warming, a video excerpt from the Climate Change Conference 2009 held in Copenhagen was presented by our chairman, Ryan Ng. He also shared his experience during his journey in Copenhagen.
After that, the highlight of the day came – a simulation game named Carbon Trading. This game allowed campers to experience the unfair trading situation in the world. In addition, campers got to learn the importance of co-operation.
Last but not least, campers were assigned different country roles and were briefed on the details concerning the imminent World Summit, which was one of the Union's biggest events of the year.
The programme ended with an "Outstanding" cheer and singing of the Union song. Our campers had another fruitful and meaningful day in the big UYL family! |
